Neither of the above.
I've got an upgraded version of the .pbobj working fine in XCode. However,
I wanted to try to get a .xcode version working, so created a new IOKit
project from the stationery and began adding the relevant files. I got
stuck when it came to Info.plist, and wondered if anyone had an idea how to
proceed.
Since the .pbobj version works fine it's not a showstopper, but I was curious.
