This converts VGA to DVI-I (analog). The dev kit mac doesn't know what
to do with DVI-I, only DVI-D. No little dongle can do this because you
need serious circuitry to do the A/D conversion.
They do make converters, but they're in theh $400 range themselves. We
just broke down and bought a 20" cinema display, but i hear there are
others that will work as well. We were time-constrained and wanted
something that we *knew* would work, so we paid more for a safe bet.
Trust me, we're not looking forward to having to justify additional
boxes expenses either.
