Have you tried it in 2.1? I vaguely remember someone mentioning that there were no changes to the project document formats between 2.1 and 2.2. If you can open it in 2.1, then you have a 2.2 bug to file! (I'd make a copy of the project before I opened it just incase 2.1 "fixes" something, that way you'll have a working example to send with your bug report.)
