NEXT_ROOT?

Running in XCode 2.1, with a project that was upgraded from XCode 1.x,
I get one of these:

ld: warning NEXT_ROOT environment variable ignored because -syslibroot specified

Where is this coming from?  I can't find this anywhere in my project
settings in XCode, nor by looking through the project.pbxproj file...
