I need to be able to build using gcc 3.3 on Intel, since I have a

system, I get this error:
g++-3.3: installation problem, cannot exec 'cc1plus': No such file or

I thought maybe this meant that 4.0 was the only option on Intel, but
the gcc-3.3 program itself is on the machine.
Apple has not built or qualified a gcc 3.3 for Intel. The executables
you see are Power PC only (Intel installations are "universal" and have
the same files as the PowerPC side, but some files may be Intel-only or
PowerPC-only).
To build for Intel you'll have to go gcc 4.
