Breakpoints and External Editor

  • Subject: Breakpoints and External Editor

I have an external editor (registered for .m files) and when I double click on some build error, the offending file is opened and the problem line gets highlighted.

So far so good.

But how do I set breakpoints at some code line? When Xcode does display .m files one just clicks in the margin.

But .m files are no longer displayed by Xcode. Is there some other way to specify these?

Or what message (Apple event ?) should my editor send to Xcode to create a breakpoint?

How does BBedit or TextWrangler handle this?

Kind regards,

Gerriet.
