Distributed REbuilds

  • Subject: Distributed REbuilds

I have seen a few comments on the list about turning off distributed builds to solve certain problems and am wondering if there is anything else I can do to solve my problem. I have a large project setup with distributed building to: my laptop, G5 single, G5 dual, G4 dual. These other three machines are in use by other people so they get turned off and on at random times. Here is the problem. Whenever one of these machines turns on or off, or the list of available machines changes in any way (for example when I unplug from the network) XCode does a complete rebuild of the project, including the precompiled headers. I am currently using XCode 2.1 on all machines. Is there anything I can do to solve this, or is this just something to live with temporarily?
