Can't say; perhaps cosmic rays? Disk errors?
What is this user file that cannot be parsed?
This is a "plist" file ("yourname.pbxuser"), and it contains
information used when you (rather than another user) open the
project: incomprehensible stuff, mostly. It's a text file, so you
can look at it with an editor.
Where can I find it?
In the '.xcodeproj' directory.
How can I get my project to load again?
Rename/move/remove the file; it will be created if it is not found,
and contains no critical information. It might be worth keeping it
around so you can compare it with the new file that gets created, to
see what might have happened to the file.
