Opening iChat .nib files with InterfaceBuilder fails

Hi,
I am new here and I hope that my question isn't placed completely
wrong here.
I wanted to open some .nib files from the iChat.app package with
InterfaceBuild 2.5 (the one that came with Mac OS X 10.4).
But every time I do so InterfaceBuilder shows me an alert: "The
document AboutBox.nib could not be opened."
I've tried it with several other .nib files - also from other apps.
I've even tried it with some iChat .nib files from iChat 2, which I
have definitely already opened some time ago with an older version of
InterfaceBuilder. Same result!
Does somebody here maybe know why this doesn't work anymore with the
new version of InterfaceBuilder?
