unknown symbol

I am new to OS X an atempting to write a C program that uses PCSC to list attached smartcard readers. I managed to to compile the program but it fails at runtime. This has been driving me crazy. The error I receive is:
 
ZeroLink: unknown symbol '_SCardEstablishContext'
 
From what I understand the command should be part of the PCSC.framework, which I do find in /System/Library/Frameworks
 
My question is do I have to somehow specify this library in the xcode IDE?
 
I am sure I am doing something stupid.
