That didn't do it -- but deleting the .perspective file fixed it.
Thanks! I was worried about futzing around in there, but no build
settings were lost.

This is only the case for *one* project -- all my other projects
are fine. But basically, what's happening is that in using the
"All-In-One" mode the "Build" pane shows nothing, and gives me an
exception message if I double-click or futz with it. The "Project"
and "Debug" panes are fine.

Now, I *know* I could just deep-six the project and create a new
one. But the project is big and complex enough that I'd rather
not. It has a lot of build phase scripting, and very finely tuned
build parameters.
Can anybody give me a pointer how to fix this?
For what it's worth, the "Default" window style ( in preferences )
*does* work. It's just that I'm on a 12" powerbook and single-
window style is a godsend.
Try opening your project bundle in the Finder with "Show Package
Contents" and removing the <yourusername>.mode[012] files. Those
contain per-layout, per-user information such as window geometry.
If you have a problem in only one layout, it's likely there's
corruption in a layout mode file.
Next time you use All-in-One layout a new mode file will be created
with default values.
