Pretty much every time when I create a new group in the Groups
& Files area, the focus is whisked away from the new group right as I am
typing a name for it because of a half second to full second delay between
creating the group and having its name become editable.
Instead, I wind up selecting some other entry
(alphabetically based on what I am typing at the time) and renaming it, because
that newly selected item becomes editable instead of the newly created item
(normally you have to bother to right click and select ‘Rename’).
Since Undo is not available for this operation, I often have to track down what
it was that got renamed to figure out what damage I have done. Worse, it
also renames the file on disk not just in the project UI, so it becomes harder
to figure out what just happened.
This is quite poor UI behavior; does it happen to others as well? The
only work around is for me to hold back and stop my normal work flow and wait
for the UI to catch up with me which, of course, I never remember to do. Having
to wait for the new item to become editable is bad, but having it swap to
another item allowing a destructive action is really annoying.
