Do you have to link with libMallocDebug? If you launch your application with MallocDebug (the application), it'll handle inserting libMallocDebug for you, and then you don't have to worry about this problem at all. In my experience it's pretty rare for someone to have to link with libMallocDebug....

Ah... I never noticed the "Launch with Performance Tool" menu item before. I always want MallocDebug on for debugging because it catches lots of pointer bugs which just occur when you least expect them. Linking with MallocDebug was a hangover from when we used to use CodeWarrior.
