Build failed with cc1plus: error: output filename specified twice

  • Subject: Build failed with cc1plus: error: output filename specified twice

I'm having a strange issue with Xcode. If I make a new project in my usual projects directory (/Users/mainframe/Documents/Work/Term 2, 2005/CSCI 2300) and try to build and run even the stock "hello world" program, I don't get beyond the error "cc1plus: error: output filename specified twice".

However, if I create the exact same project in /Users/mainframe/Desktop the project builds just fine.

It seems like Xcode is having an issue with non-standard directory names (e.g. with commas and spaces). Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? Am I just going to have to work with projects on my desktop until they're finished and can be archived?
