I am working on a large Ant based project with a couple thousand files. XCode has been ideal for development for several reasons. However I am encountering an indexing bug. When I edit a file and save changes I get a warning message that says:
"An exception occurred while indexing "xal":
Unable to delete reference record 621740 for Trajectory (1250240)

This requires the index to be rebuilt."

So I hit the "rebuild index" button and the problem comes right back again. If I hit the cancel button then I get the spinning cursor and have to force quit XCode. Indexing is very valuable to me, so I don't want to disable it. I've tried creating a new project from scratch, but I still get the same problem.

Has anyone else seen this problem and does anyone know of a workaround?

This bug is fixed in Xcode 2.0 for Tiger. Unfortunately, I don't know of a workaround short of turning off indexing. :(
