I hadn't heard this - do you have a link or such that describes this, and
when it's going to happen?

I heard the same information as Finlay last month. The developer whose issue this was seemed happy to use JNI (since it's new development).


If you need the bridge, you should file a bug: bugreporter.apple.com.
