Hi all,

Does anyone know how you're supposed to set-up distributed Xcode builds on a headless
Xserve? Obviously if it's headless, you can't just run Xcode and check the
"Share my computer for building as a [High |:] priority" checkbox.

You could easily use Apple Remote Desktop, Timbuktu, or VNC to get a graphic display for your "headless" computer and set the distributed builds up that way.

I hadn't appreciated that machines with no graphics card still created a display buffer,
so I didn't think that would work. However, I can confirm that it's easy to do and works
just fine (I used VNC). Now all I have to do is make sure I have the same version of
GCC everywhere :-)

Thanks for the advice.

Kind regards,

Alastair.
