Hi all,

I'm setting up a new development system and would like some insight from others who have gone through this on how to get the whole thing working so that Code Sense works for everything, the Documentation is all linked correctly and so that it doesn't break something along the way.

The problem I've had is that I'd set up a dev system with WebObjects, upgraded everything via "Software Update" and then noticed that the Class Browser wasn't including any standard Java classes (for WebObjects projects) and thus went hunting for ways of getting this to work (still no luck).

So I downloaded and installed "Java 1.4.2 Update 1 Developer Tools" from the ADC, I've done all of the pbxindexing (or so I thought) etc - but afterwards still had no luck in getting Code Sense to work with Java and worse - my WebObjects apps now fail to launch!!

I've tried referring to things like the following without success (i.e., on Making Sense of Xcode 1.5 and Code Sense)

So when setting up a new system - what are the steps people go through in order to have a complete development system with everything working?

I don't mind lots of detail if that's necessary - it's much appreciated. I'll start the ball rolling with an outline of my presumptions. If you can insert the necessary details that I'm missing that'd be great.

== Main Installation ==
	- Install Mac OS X 10.3
	- Install Xcode Developer tools CD
	- Update via Software Update
	  (includes Xcode 1.1 Update)

== WebObjects Install ==
	- 5.2 Developer CD
	- WebObjects 5.2.2 Developer Update
	- WebObjects 5.2.3 Developer Update

== Java Documentation Install? ==
	- Java 1.4.2 Update 1 Developer Tools

== Xcode Update ==
	- Xcode Tools 1.5 CD Image
	- Follow Release Notes Fixes

Where to from here?

== Examples ==
	- /Developer/Extras/Xcode Index Templates/install_templates

Thanks again!

with regards,
