If only you'd also enlightened Installer.app with this knowledge! I've sometimes wondered if a fresh batch of updates weren't going to be released before the previous ones finished "optimizing". Once, my mother actually called me frantic that Software Update had frozen and was not amused when I advised her to "just leave it for a few hours."
