Nope. Someone else suggested this to me offlist, and I tried it in the test code that I posted earlier. Even when my struct was wrapped within an extern "C" block, it could still be referred to without the use of the keyword struct. I suspect that the fact of having a function with the same name has more to do with it, though I don't think it actually should.
