applescript/interface builder anomaly

I have two xcode applications, one on power book and the other on my desktop, and two interface builders. They are identical wrt release number etc.

When I create a new applescript application project, and edit the nib in Interface Builder to make a text window, my powerbook correctly displays 'Applescript' as one of the pull down menu items in the info window for that text window.

On my desktop, the 'Applescript' item is missing.

Is there some magic preference I have forgotten to activate?

cheers

shaun
