Hmm, syntax coloring and the function popup use the same source of info, so I can see why this is (incorrectly) happening. Please file a bug.

...I just tried switching off syntax coloring, which indeed seems to speed up file saving...but it also has an unfortunate side- effect: it turns off the "symbol view" drop-down menu...this doesn't seem to me to be something that should be affected by "syntax coloring": what's the thought behind it, and should I file a bug?
