Ahh... it seems like the target was indeed overriding the build
settings. I hadn't thought to check there... Is there any
"standard" about when the target should be modified and when the
project should?
In general, settings that define a configuration (like "Optimization
Level" or "Generate Debugging Symbols") and tend to be similar among
targets should be defined at the project level. In addition, warning
settings (or any settings that reflect policy across targets/
projects) should be set at the project level.
If possible, try to minimize build settings at the target level, only
settings specific to the target (like the product name, for example)
should be set there.
In a one target project, these distinctions aren't that interesting.
However, if that one target project becomes a 10-target project,
refactoring the settings can pay off substantially.
