I've recently migrated a couple of projects from CodeWarrior to Xcode,
one large and one small. Both use non-localised ResourceManager
resources, which (as per the documentation) are built into the
Resources folder of their respective bundles and given the same name
as the executable with an 'rsrc' extension. So the "AppOne.app" bundle
contains the "AppOne" executable and "AppOne.rsrc" in the Resources
folder. This worked fine in CodeWarrior.
In Xcode, the small project works fine - its resources get loaded
automatically as they should be, and all is well. The larger project
fails when it first looks up a resource from this resource file, since
it not been loaded for some reason.
Both projects are based on the same build configurations, with no
substantial differences in the build settings at all. Of course the
resources are different, and there are significantly more of them in
the large project, but this should surely not be significant. I've
ruled out differences between the CodeWarrior and Xcode resource
compilers by copying the CW-built resources into the Xcode-built
bundle, to no avail.
I wondered if anyone else had encountered problems with these bundle
resources under Xcode, and how they went about fixing them.
Many thanks,
James.
