[2.1] std::string Custom Data Formatter

  • Subject: [2.1] std::string Custom Data Formatter

I'm pretty sure this worked back in Xcode 2.0, but I can't get my custom data formatter to work with std::string anymore. This is what I'm doing:

size={(int)$VAR.size()} "{(char *)$VAR.c_str()}:s"

Different variations (removing the quotes, the :s, etc) all produce the grayed-out format string rather than the string.

Interestingly, if I open the gdb console and do a "print ((char*) mystring.c_str())", gdb tells me "too few arguments in function call".

What is going on here?

Tim
