Follow-up: I finally figured out that the Debug Executable command doesn't care which executable I have selected in the Groups & Files list, and that I needed to click on the little radio button to actually select it.

That got me this message when I ran it:
2005-07-12 10:45:04.132 otest[3136] Usage: otest [-SenTest Self | All | None | <TestCaseClassName/testMethodName>] <path of unit to be tested>
2005-07-12 10:45:04.133 otest[3136] launch path not accessible


I had configured my executable according to the instructions on this page:
