Title: RE: Garbage collection in XCode 2.1, and Cocoa
What unexpected behaviour? I use C# an awful lot at work and I haven't had any unexpected behaviour from the .NET GC yet. This is in both small and very large projects.
As for a waste of cycles, thats partially true but as someone mentioned before that is easily managed.
I know a lot of people who want to switch to Mac development and prefer pretty much everything about Cocoa/ObjC over other solutions, but the lack of GC puts them off. After using C# for a couple of years I tend to agree, it eliminates an awful lot of code and bugs.

What do you do with people who consider garbage collection as a
source of unexpected behaviour and a waste of cycles? Reference
counting is a snap if you know what you are doing.

Quite a lot of work, just to track a few possible options ...
Have fun,
