Missing docs after May 2005 ADC Reference Library

  • Subject: Missing docs after May 2005 ADC Reference Library

So I wanted to look up something in the gdb docs but it no longer seemed to be anywhere on my disk.

After a whole bunch of experimenting, uninstalling and re-installing (hitting that Java doc symlink/missing directory issue in the process), I finally discovered that the documentation for gdb (and glibtool, gperf and a whole host of other docs) will be removed if you apply the May 2005 ADC Reference Library update over an XCode 2.0 Developer Documentation install.

This can't be by design, can it? After all, the gdb Release Notes (which seems to be the only thing that survives the update, still contains links to where the docs should be, and were before this update decided I didn't need them anymore).

For now, I'm going to re-install the documentation from the Tiger DVD (again) and avoid the May 2005 ADC Reference Library update :)
