Since you're so all-fired omnipotent, why did you declare the first function const in the first place? Just use your All Seeing Eye, write your perfect code, and stop complaining about it (even though it's a Good Thing\tm\ and will save you from problems that you're going to have precisely because you're convinced that you won't).
