Nap mode turning off automatically?

Has anyone else run into a problem where the Nap mode for their processor is turning itself off automatically? About a week ago, I noticed that my PowerBook's fan was coming on all the time for no reason (15% processor usage, no major hard disk or graphics card activity, etc). I finally checked the Processor pref pane and saw that the "Allow Nap" checkbox was unchecked. After turning it back on, the problem went away. Then this morning, the problem cropped up again. I checked the Processor pref pane and the "Allow Nap" checkbox was unchecked again.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.1 with CHUD 4.1.1. I don't do any hardware- related development, so I really don't see how this is changing automatically.

Is anyone else having this problem? I'm hesitant to file a bug until I figure out how to reproduce it.
