If you mean the "Build Results" window, it is empty
(I'm using Xcode 2.1 now, not sure if the menu names
are different).
There's a "build transscript", too. To show it, pull up the split
view which is right at the bottom of the build results window by
default. Or, click this little icon left of the bottom scroll bar in
the build results window. It's tooltip reads: "Select this to show
the build transscript". You'll see all commands as they are sent to
the CLI.
Command-K is not really compiling. It is behaving as
if there has been no change to the file and that it
doesn't need to be compiled.
Obviously, Xcode doesn't notice the change. While I don't have a
solution and short of throwing away the project file, I'd ...
- Test wether it still doesn't work if you save the file before
hitting cmd-K.
- Enable Preferences -> Building -> "For unsaved files" (bottom
right) -> "always save".
- Check wether the file is marked as dirty after an edit (the file's
icon in the file list gets darker).
- strip the project down to only few files, file a bug report and
attach the project there. The stripped project should still
demonstrate the odd behaviour.
