Welcome to Macintosh. With only a handful of exceptions (the LC II
and PowerBook 100 are the only two I can think of), every new Mac
that has come off of Apple's assembly line has not been backward
compatible with older versions of the OS.
I cannot install xCode 1.5 on it.
I cannot *find* xCode 2.0 to download anywhere.
Xcode 2.0 may be hiding on the DVD bundled with the new PowerBook.
Try searching that disc; unless Apple quit shipping the developer
tools with new Macs recently, you should be able to find it.
The only thing I can find is xCode 2.1. None of our projects will
compile with it!
If it's because of the new build configurations feature, you can
disable it to make build configurations work more like build styles
by setting the "UsePerConfigurationBuildLocations" key in Xcode's
preferences file to YES. And then you can use the "xcodebuild"
command line program to build Xcode 1.5/2.0 projects without making
any modifications to your current setup.
