pre processing problem xcode 2.1

Hi,
a while ago I struggled with pro*c precompilation using xcode 2.0 and got the
precompiler working using an aggregate target. In xcode 2.1 this solution no
longer works so my conclusion is I picked the wrong method to implement this in
the project.
What is the preferred way to implement this in xcode ?
I have a source code x.pc that has to be precompiled to get x.c that needs to be
compiled.
In xcode 2.0 I made x.c as the aggregate target that had a build script to
generate the x.c code from the x.pc code. After conversion of the project file
I now get 'unable to create directory, invalid address' error.
(or is this a bug ?)

regards,
Ronald.
