This is a known issue with using xcconfig files at the project level. Currently there are two workarounds:

1) don't use xcconfig files at the project build settings level
2) if the file reference for an xcconfig file uses an absolute path then you avoid the bug


There shouldn't be any problem using an xcconfig file at the target level.
