I'd file a bug (provide a test project if you can).

Hi all,
I've got a kext project where for some reason the "Run Script"
build phase in the target executes before the link. Since the
script acts on the executable (which hasn't linked yet), I get a
build error indicating that it can't open the file.
The behavior is hard to pin down, because after removing and re-
adding the "Run Script" build phase, I can get it to build in the
right order. But when the project is moved to a new machine, the
same problem happens.
Note that I have other projects with "Run Script" build phases that
work perfectly all the time. A comparison of the project.pbxproj
from a working project to the problem one hasn't turned up any
obvious differences. The "Run Script" build phase in the problem
project is definitely the last in the list.
Also, as a side issue I'm seeing Xcode crash some of the time when
I do a clean of the problem project. Note that this is a brand new
project created from scratch today with Xcode 2.1.
Any suggestions to deal with these problems would be welcome.
Best regards,
