XCode - Messages do not print to run log

What can be the erroneous setting in an XCode project that stops messages printed to std::out from being printed to the XCode runlog? I also wonder how I can fix it. "Home is not where you are born, but where your heart finds peace" - Tommy Nordgren, "The dying old crone"
