Exactly, and obviously the QuickTime 7 installation removed the
CarbonSound headers.
Applying the updater and installing the QT SDK, will re-install headers.

This bit me previously, until I was pointed in this direction. If you
haven't updated to QT7, then I doubt this applies.

Hi all,
i just realized, that CarbonSound.h header doesn't exist anymore in the
CarbonSound sub framework of the Carbon framework in the system
libraries.
Actually, the complete folder "Header" is empty.
Pretty weird. I really do not know when it disappeared, because i link
against the SDKs, where it still exist - so i do not get an error
there.
Any ideas why/how this happened?
How can i re-install system frameworks?
FYI: i didn't install XCode 2 nor Tiger yet.
