That's a great hint (assuming XCode 2.0 still doesn't support the project opaquely, which I'm not sure). However, you must ALSO add project.pbxuser as well, because that's also a component of your project bundle and should be placed under source control (Apple mentions this somewhere in their SCM documentation). I just add the project.pbxproject file to the project's file listing so I can use edit, compare, and commit directly from XCode. Show Bundle Contents from the Finder, drag to the file list, and I'm good to go.
