Interface builder doesn't show my classes

Hello
I've created a simple Hello class in a Hello.m file.
When opening the .nib file I don't get that class in the classes or instances class.
Further more what's the difference between the classes and instances tab ? I know what the difference is between a class and an instance of a class but I can't see why you have both and what's theire different purpose.
