doubled symbols

I still use Xcode 1.5 on 10.3.9.

I'm curious about why Xcode makes two symbols from one function. There is a lot of doubled symbols in Project Symbols, but not all symbols. When I look at the source file names of those, one has "cp" extension and the other "cpp". But the project only includes the source file with 'cpp' extension. There is the same file with just 'cp' in the other disk, but the project and even Xcode aren't set its source tree to the wrong directory.

Would you tell me how to remove one of the two symbols?
"Clear" command didn't help.

Thank you,
Norio Ota
