Question about building installers

Not sure if this is the right list to post this to, but I am going to give it a shot.

I've been fighting with a problem with a PackageMaker Package I've been trying to create.

I've use the InstallChecker script to check if the package already exists, and I can throw it out with an error. I've also used preflight.

when I try to make it part of a metapackage, I cannot disable the one package without killing the whole install process.

What I would like to do is:

1) in a single package, check is something exists (I've done this no problem)... if it exists, I want that single package to not install, but allow the rest of the metapackage contents to install.

Is this possible? Or even have the metapackage disable the single package if the certain criteria is met.

Thanks for any help,
Mike
