I solved it!
If you go into the executable's prefs, and select the "Debugging"
pane, and deselect "Auto-attach debugger on crash" it works. Good
news, since I no longer will need to uninstall 2.2...

No sorry, I haven't yet groked what you are hitting. I do see that
you are using "stringWithCString:" which has long been consider
deprecated but likely not a trigger for this issue.
Consider disabling things like fix and continue and/or zero link to
see if that makes a difference.
This is unbearable!
...then consider reinstalling Xcode 2.1 and keep going. Also seeds
of Xcode 2.2 have been available for a long while, so in the future
consider testing with them to help Apple catch issues and/or
prepare yourself for an update.
