  • Thread-topic: Building a plugin as a Universal Binary causes local relocation entries in non-writable section error

Hi list,

A few people have posted a similar problem to the one I have and have been able to fix it.

I have tried some of suggestions posted here with no luck so far.

Here is what I am trying to do:

I am building a plug-in as a Universal Binary (I just installed Xcode 2.2).

Once the Linking stage comes I get the following error:

/Users/Bobby/Plugin/build/Myplugin.build/UniversalBinary/Myplugin.build/Objects-normal/i386/AudioEffect.o has local relocation entries in non-writable section (__TEXT,__text)

I used to be able to build fine with Xcode 2.1 for PowerPC but once I installed Xcode 2.2 and tried to build a Universal Binary I started getting the error.

The “Generate Position Dependent Code” setting is disabled for the target.

Is there anything obvious that I am missing?
