"local relocation entries in non-writable section" error

  • Subject: "local relocation entries in non-writable section" error

Hi,

I am moving from CodeWarrior to XCode, so I have joined this list. Here is my first question:

Can anyone tell me how to overcome the following error I get when compiling? :

...has local relocation entries in non-writable section (__TEXT,__text)

The error refers to an object file that was produced in another XCode project and is subsequently included in the project I am working on.

After googling around for this error, I've tried going back to GCC 3.3, tried setting compiler flags for -mdynamic -no-pic, and linker flags to -Wl,-read_only_relocs,warning. But no change..

Thanks & regards,
