Title: SOLVED Simple Icon Composer Question
Thank you Lee and Roland for the reference links, and Roland for the the “short recipe.” I will definitely use this information to create icons for specific apps. I was looking for a quick way to create a general assortment of icons and found the IconDroplet download on versiontracker.com. You create your .icns file, then drag the file on top of the IconDroplet.app. Your custom icon appears. You can then assign your custom icon to any folder/file/app using the Get Info copy/paste process.
