I am a long time Mac user, little programming experience and
regretabaly starting out in Unix.
I am trying to run two FEA programs on my ibook. I have installed the
developers tools. It seems that the fortran compiler is not found when
trying to compile the code.
also it seems that XFree86 files libX11.a and Xlib.h are not present
with all the other X11 files.
My question are:
Where is the Fortran compiler located?
Are libX11.a and Xlib.h files named something else on the Mac flavor of
XFree86 or can I find them somewhere and install them?
Which will run faster? Unix version of a program or a ported, native
version?
Thanks
Tim Cordes
