Hi Jason. It depends on what the expectations are of the class. If
the class is focused on using C for standalone executables that run
with "standard input and output" then you probably want to use the
"Command Line Utility" template in Xcode.
From the "New Project" dialog, choose one of the "Command Line
Utility" options. "Standard Tool" is probably a good choice for your
homework.
Xcode is not great for running command line tools, but it is getting
better. You may want to keep a Terminal window open at the location
of your built tool to do most of your testing straight from the
Terminal.
