You are absolutely right!
I'm currently trying to convince them to provide a XCode 2.1 (gcc
4.1) version of their libraries but this seems to take quite a while.
In the meantime I want to make sure, that I have tried all what's
possible with the current version of the libraries released for XCode
1.5 (gcc 3.3).

In this case it's a set of libraries and frameworks (XVT DSC, XVT
DSC++ and RogueWave Tools.h++) provided by Providence Software.
I would suggest to compile a sample application from XVT an try to
reproduce the error. If this is possible, the quickest path to fix
this problem is to address Providence and file a bug report. Since
XVT is a commercial product and no source is available you should
also get help from them.
Also ensure you have the newest libraries from XVT and followed the
installation and build instructions - especially when compiling
with Xcode 2.1 on 10.4. Also ask whether there are 10.4 libraries
available.

Markus!
What do you exactly mean with: Apply standard debugging
procedures? What options do i have in a 3rd party library that
comes without source code?
what library are you talking about???

1. Can I build a C++ project in XCode 2.1 using gcc 3.3 and
link it together with libraries that have been build with XCode ?
As long as you use the same compiler and the same SDK for all
parts, this is supported and should work.
2. Is there an explanation, whz an application that build fine
under XCode 1.5 and runs without any error message under OSX
10.3 would generate EXC_BAD_ACCESS style errors when run from
OSX 10.4
Obviously you have a bug in your code which is exposed by one
or more of the differences between 10.3 and 10.4. Apply
standard debugging procedures?
