Here's another piece of evidence:
- In xCode, go to Help > Open man page...
- open the man page for gcc
- in the window that comes up, do Select All
- now do Edit > Copy. Start your watches!
It takes 10 seconds on my machine!
Now go into TextEdit and paste it. Then Select All and Copy. Takes
about 1 second.
(yeah, I know the two apps could have implemented Copy differently, etc.
but as an end user I don't care. xCode is an order of magnitude slower!)
