setting build subtasks in build configurations?

Is there any way to set PBXNumberOfParallelBuildSubtasks or equivalent from within a build configuration? We have an old Jam project which doesn't build when multiple build sub tasks are greater than 1 and we always have to set/unset the default value when we build this project.

It would be nice if we could just have this set in the build configuration. Is this possible?
